Two women have been taken to hospital following a house fire.

Eight fire engines were called to the scene of the blaze on Friars Avenue in Bangor, Gwynedd, at about 10:40 BST on Sunday.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the two women were taken to hospital for treatment. Their condition is not yet known.

Properties adjacent to the mid-terraced house have also been affected, the fire service added.

North Wales Police has asked people to avoid the area.
